Powergate Case History
Performance, control, and business opportunities for your workshop.
15.07.2026
The starting point for this new Powergate Case History is a Ducati Monster 937 in the 35 kW version, equipped with a Bosch ME17.9.21 ECU: a sports naked bike powered by a 937 cc Testastretta 11° engine, designed to deliver precise, responsive and accessible riding, but limited in its restricted configuration.
The tuner’s objective is clear: restore the motorcycle to the full potential of the full-power version and develop multiple calibration levels according to the vehicle’s actual setup. The work therefore goes beyond simply restoring the power. The management of the Bosch ME17.9.21 ECU is designed to support the motorcycle’s evolution.
For Roland, the owner, the difference is clear: not only more power, but also an engine response that is more consistent with the installed configuration, fuller power delivery and the ability to select the performance level best suited to actual use thanks to Powergate.
The project was developed across three levels, each with a specific objective. Each configuration makes it possible to adapt the engine management to the actual setup of the Monster 937, providing the workshop with a clear, modular and repeatable upgrade path.
The first configuration takes the Ducati Monster 937 from 35 kW to the full-power version, reaching 111 hp at 9,250 min⁻¹ and 93 Nm at 6,500 min⁻¹.
The motorcycle regains its original unrestricted character, with a more immediate response, fuller power delivery and management that is consistent with the standard components.
With an aftermarket exhaust and air filter, the calibration is adapted to the new intake and exhaust flow using 95 RON petrol.
The result is a tangible increase that is consistent with road use: approximately 114 hp and 99 Nm, with greater responsiveness, more mid-range thrust and a more linear response when opening the throttle.
The third configuration represents the most advanced level of the project. With an aftermarket exhaust, air filter and 100 RON petrol, the Bosch ME17.9.21 ECU is calibrated to make the most of the complete setup.
Power reaches 116 hp at 9,380 min⁻¹, while torque rises to 102 Nm at 6,230 min⁻¹, with an even fuller, more immediate and more consistent response during sports use, while maintaining maximum reliability.
With Powergate, these three configurations become a structured service for the workshop.
The customer does not receive a single calibration, but a progressive upgrade path built around the motorcycle’s actual configuration and the customer’s usage requirements.
The workshop can offer different, clear and scalable solutions, and this approach makes it possible to turn recalibration into a complete, professional service that is easy to promote: each step has a specific function, a tangible advantage and a clear application for the end customer.
This Case History demonstrates how the management of the Bosch ME17.9.21 ECU on the Ducati Monster 937 35 kW can become a practical working platform for motorcycle workshops.
The operation makes it possible to:
Thanks to management through Powergate, the Ducati Monster 937 moves from a restricted configuration to a complete project developed across three levels. The result is a Monster 937 that is more responsive, fuller and more consistent with the installed setup. Each configuration meets a specific requirement, and Roland says:
“With these configurations, my Monster completely changes character. The switch to full power is already clearly noticeable, but with the exhaust, filter and dedicated calibration, the motorcycle becomes much more precise and responsive when opening the throttle. With Powergate, I can always carry the different riding modes with me. It is definitely engaging.”
