New OBD protocol for Bosch ZF8HP70 – BMW and Alpina 3.0d, 3.0i and 4.4i.

Development continues on ZF8HP transmissions for the most performance-oriented vehicles.

09.03.2026 – Upgrade 2.95

Thanks to this new development it is now possible to operate via OBD on Bosch ZF8HP70 TCUs, extending coverage to high-performance BMW and Alpina vehicles from 2009 onwards.

On these configurations, designed to handle high torque levels, programming the Bosch ZF8HP70 TCU allows intervention on shift strategies, transmission-side torque management, and software recovery operations without invasive procedures.

This makes it possible to align transmission calibration with engine tuning, maintaining consistency between power delivery and shift strategy.
