Harley Davidson Street Bob: When customization becomes consistency.

Turn the Street Bob into a new business opportunity: more performance, more flexibility, more customer satisfaction.

20.01.2026

In the Harley-Davidson world, customization is not an accessory: it is part of the identity.
Mark knows this well. A Harley rider for years, he built his Street Bob over time, choosing every modification with care. No pointless interventions, no chase for extreme power. Just one clear goal: a bike that truly improves on the road without losing the character of the V-Twin.

At a certain point, however, something didn’t add up.
The mechanics had changed, the electronics had not. The ECU no longer reflected the real bike.

That’s when Mark realized what was really missing: a coherent calibration, capable of bringing order and meaning to all the work done so far. That’s where Powergate comes into play.

From hardware to mapping: when electronics make the difference

Mark’s Street Bob arrives at the workshop already heavily modified. A common situation, especially in the custom world: high-quality components, correct choices, but a calibration not aligned with the actual engine setup.

With Powergate, the goal is not to “push”, but to make the project work as intended. The result? Two distinct configurations, designed for two different ways of experiencing the same bike.

This map is designed for everyday use. It’s not about peak numbers, but balance. Power delivery becomes cleaner and smoother, especially at low RPM. Throttle response is more natural, predictable, and easy to manage even in traffic or at low speeds. The bike is more stable, less nervous, more consistent with real-world road use.
Idle speed is also carefully revised: the V-Twin pulse remains, without compromising reliability and smoothness.
The result is a Harley that is easier, more controllable, more “right”.

A bike that supports the rider, not one that forces them.

This is where the Harley soul comes in.
This configuration is designed for those who don’t just want to ride the bike, but to feel it.
Throttle response is sharper, deceleration behavior more pronounced, idle pulses with a deliberately irregular rhythm. This is not about efficiency, but mechanical pleasure, sound, and sensations.

A map with no compromises: pure character, pure V-Twin.

Powergate & Delphi MT21M

Technical control, an opportunity for workshops.

The Delphi MT21M, used on Euro 5 Harley-Davidson models, is now a widely adopted ECU across the range: cable throttle and ride-by-wire models, all based on the classic 4-stroke V-Twin architecture.

This widespread use makes it a strategic ECU for workshops.
With Powergate, the ECU stops being a limitation and becomes a real customization tool, allowing you to:

  • Adapt power delivery to real mechanical modifications (exhausts, intakes, cams, engine kits)
  • Customize throttle response on both cable and ride-by-wire versions improve low-RPM rideability
  • Adjust idle speed while preserving the V-Twin character
  • Calibrate deceleration behavior to enhance sound and feel
  • Build maps consistent with riding style and real use (urban, touring, custom)
  • Offer the end customer a tailored solution, not a standard calibration

For the workshop, this means turning a multi-platform ECU into real technical and commercial added value.

The result

Mark notices it immediately. The engine is smoother, more responsive at low RPM, more consistent with his riding style. It’s not a different Harley. It’s his Harley, finally complete.

“I wasn’t looking for more power at all costs, but for a bike that responded exactly the way I had imagined it. Now every modification makes sense. And you can feel it.”
